THE STORY: JOE EGGER's wife MARCY dies tragically in an airline crash, leaving Joe devastated. In his despair he does a one-eighty and reinvents himself: Joe quits his financially comfortable office job, throws out his suits, grows out his hair and beard and takes every last cent and buys a newsstand on Sunset Blvd. Six months pass and Joe's friends begin to worry that Joe isn't letting go of his depression and emotionally move on. After a series of nightmarish set-up dates, Joe is ready to throw in the towel on romance forever, until CARLY, a beautiful and enigmatic waitress who visits Joe's newsstand daily, captures his attention. But Joe is too afraid to pursue Carly. Joe is too comfortable with his new life and the last thing he wants is to know the despair of loving, again. Then, one day, Joe answers a knock at his front door: enter FINN. Finn claims to be Marcy's long lost cousin, but Joe refuses to believe Finn's story. Finn won't leave Joe or his friends alone. Obsessed with exposing Finn as a fake, Joe make it his mission to uncover the truth of Finn, which leads Joe to learn the shocking truth of his own wife, marriage and the meaning of his life. "Zeitgeist Logix" is a modern-day fairy tale about love, letting go and the acceptance of personal destiny. Screenplay by Matthew Van Vlack.
