THE STORY: Bob and Vinnie, or is it Vinnie and Bob, are two L.A. dudes, like any other L.A. dudes, who work thankless jobs in the Avid Vault of Repeat Video in the heart of Hollywood. They have hopes, dreams, and aspirations. They are no different than any other guys you might meet on a Saturday night in any club anywhere, but, Bob and Vinnie, dubbed the “Vault Monkeys” by their co-workers, as lovable as they are, have no direction, are making no effort whatsoever to change their mundane, puerile existences. They are utterly and completely…LOSERS! In order to escape the ordinariness of their lives, Bob and Vinnie use their extensive, if not questionable, imaginations, becoming twisted superheroes Super Vault Monkey and Bitch Boy or adopting the roles of their favorite movie characters. But when one of the Repeat Avid technicians frames Vinnie for the theft of two media drives an inter-company war begins which results in the summoning of a demon named Astaroth who offers Vinnie, in exchange for his immortal soul, all the power he could ever want to exact revenge. This leaves Bob not only to try and save the soul of his friend and keep Repeat Video from being swallowed in a blaze of hellfire, but also try and make his relationship with his girlfriend Athena work in that land of romantic hell called Los Angeles! “Vault Monkeys” is a riotous comedy about dreamers, friendship and taking on the system…without winning. It’s a Zen kind of thing. Screenplay by Vincent Comito & Matthew Van Vlack.
