THE STORY:

FRANK is an artist coping with a messy break-up with his long time girlfriend EMILY. Frank's best friend TONY takes it upon himself to end Frank's funk out by encouraging him to ask out RANDI, a waitress who regularly serves them at their favorite breakfast spot. But the enimatic strangers named the TATTOOED MAN and the TRICKSTER, pull Frank, Tony, Emily and Randi into their spiritual war when Frank is tragically killed, trying to save a total stranger's life.

Frank's death tears everyone's lives apart, throwing Emily into a terrible depression and driving Tony from being a believer in the shamanic practices of his Native American ancestors into an agnostic, who blames Emily's break-up with Frank as the reason for his friend's death. Tony's only relief is that he begins a relationship with Randi in the wake of his best friend's death.

Suddenly, Emily vanishes, forcing Tony to overcome his feelings and joining Emily's little sister KELLY in solving the mystery. Without a clue, Tony and Emily look to their friends VINNIE and BOB, who introduce them to a cast of characters all of whom have at some point in their recent pasts encountered the Tattooed Man and/or the Trickster.

As they unravel the mystery of Emily's disappearance, it becomes clear to Tony and Emily that Frank's death was orchestrated by the same forces that kidnapped Emily. With no other options, Tony uses his shamanic practices and descends into the underworld, wherein he challenges the Trickster face-to-face to save the souls of his friends.

Many of the characters from the preceding stories in the "Underworld Series" (including Anne Lundy from "Souls," Zero Lunt from "Last Night In L.A.," Carl Abbott of "Blackmailing God," and Joe Egger from "Zeitgeist Logix,"), appear in this paranormal adventure.
