THE STORY:

Nathan Boyce moves his family from Los Angeles to Devonshire, England, because of a lucrative job opportunity. His oldest son Nic is none to pleased with the move, and Nathan's wife Alison must deal with taking their autistic daughter Dylan into a new environment.

But when Nathan buys an old rocking horse for Dylan, she seems to begin to open. And even Nic seems to open up as he becomes acquainted with a young woman named Rebecca, whose grandfather was the original owner of the rocking horse.

And just when it seems that the family is finally adjusting to their new life, Alison begins to hear voices from Dylan's bedroom, as if Dylan, who has never spoken a word is not only talking to but being talked to by the rocking horse.

Then, one night, the Boyces' life is overturned as Dylan and her rocking horse are kidnapped and Nic relates a terrifying story of how a fully-armored, fully-mounted knight attacked him, the rocking horse became a real horse and escaped through Dylan's bedroom closet with Dylan on his back.

This is the beginning of the tale of The Rocking Horse Knight, a fantasy adventure that begins on the far away world of Iferliore where a malevolent king has overthrown the Naerim Knights, the defenders of the Window Worlds, scattering them to the far corners of the Universe. This evil ruler is the Carousel King and he feeds off the souls of children he has kidnapped by sending his Carousel Knights through the dimensional windows connecting Iferliore to Earth.

In order for Nic to save his little sister, he and Rebecca must uncover her Grandfather's past, the secret of the rocking horse, and find the last of the Naerim Knights and enter the world of Iferliore to save not only Dylan but also all the children of Earth.

Iferliore is a magical world populated by talking beasts and dolphin queens. In the tradition of The Chronicles of Narnia, the crossover between Earth and a magical world is a tale of adventure and magic for the whole family. It introduces us to the Window World series and is the first chapter in The Chronicles of the Rocking Horse Knights. They are stories of courage, friendship and love overcoming great evil.
